Agreeing to these terms

By installing the purlview command, signing in, or opening a Purlview link, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you use Purlview for an organisation, you agree for it and confirm that you may.

You must be at least 16, and old enough to agree to a contract where you live.

What Purlview is

Purlview lets you share an app running on your machine through a link, for up to an hour at a time. It is free. We may add, change or remove features, and we do not promise that Purlview will always be available.

Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email address. Keep that mailbox and your devices secure; you are responsible for what happens through your account. Sign out a device you no longer control with purlview devices, or from the console.

Limits

Each account has limits, such as how many shares run at once and how much data passes through them. They are described in the docs, and we may change them. Do not work around them, for example with several accounts.

Acceptable use

Share only apps and data you have the right to share. Do not use Purlview to:

• distribute malware or anything built to harm a device or its data;
• deceive people into giving passwords, payment details or other personal data, or pretend to be someone else;
• share content that is illegal, that exploits children, or that infringes anyone's rights;
• harass people or send invites they have not asked for;
• give others access to a system or network you are not permitted to open to them, such as an employer's internal tools;
• attack, probe, overload or disrupt Purlview or anyone else's systems;
• get around the page that warns visitors before they open a shared app, or any other safeguard.

Your app and the people you invite

Your app and what it serves stay yours. While a share runs, Purlview passes your app's pages and data between your machine and your visitors; it does not store them. You are responsible for your app, what it shows, and for having permission to invite the people you name. Visitors see your email address on the page before they open your app and in any invite.

Reports and enforcement

Report abuse to abuse@purlview.com and security issues to security@purlview.com. We may stop shares, suspend an account or refuse service if we believe these terms are broken, or to protect people or Purlview, with or without notice.

The software

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the purlview command to use Purlview. The software and the service belong to Idyl Labs, Inc. Do not copy, resell or build a competing service from them. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

No warranty

Purlview is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability or freedom from errors, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Idyl Labs, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, and its total liability for all claims about Purlview is limited to the greater of what you paid us for Purlview in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

You will cover our reasonable costs from claims by others that arise from your app or your breach of these terms.

Stopping

You may stop using Purlview at any time, and ask us to delete your account as the privacy policy describes. We may close accounts or stop offering Purlview; where we stop the service entirely, we will give notice where we reasonably can.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and for significant changes we will tell you by email where we reasonably can. Using Purlview after a change means you accept it.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in San Francisco County, California, except where the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be waived.
